I vowed to keep my forbidden fruit
In its natural state
Until the rightful fruit picker comes by

I played with different you
And none was able to pluck the fruit
Because my vow remained

I was tempted to give one
But declined
On remembering my vow

Then one night, a dark night
A thief entered through the window
And into the garden
After eating fruits from other trees
Came to mine
And played with it, like the rest

He looked sideways
And stole it from me
Leaving me in pain…
…crying for the gone fruit
That I had vowed
To share with the one my heart wants

Now I’m here…
Without the beauty
Of the much coveted fruit
That I had preserved for a long time
