Stephen Musyoka or “Syoks” is well known on Social Media networks in Kenya, He is behind several successful social media marketing campaigns for corporates, brands and individuals and initiatives in Kenyan society.
He earned the title “King of Facebook” in the year 2010 at a Face-off contest organized by Safaricom.
A journalist by profession, Syoks has worked with several noteworthy initiatives. His team at the Nailab once raised Ksh. 136,000/= in just six hours for a Community Based Organization in Githurai, through the 1%CLUB.
1. What was your first phone?
It was a Sagem. I inherited it from my big bro @dndeti who had also inherited it from our father. It was too heavy and loud to be forgotten.
2. What do you prefer? Facebook or Twitter? Why?
Facebook. Theres a sea of options to play around with, eveything from creating apps to customizations. The level of interaction is high.
The number of Facebook users speaks volumes. There’s no limitation on the number of characters!! However, at times it can be slow.
Twitter is good, but it’s too fast, it’s limited and at times it can be a place for beef fueled by peoples egos.
Plus Safaricom crowned me King of Facebook years back, I think the crown is somewhere in my house 
3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Running my own show, be it a business, a firm or even a farm!
Its always good to have a fall back plan when you’re young, something you can call your own
4. Any question for us?
If you put the following in a cage fight: Van Damme, Rambo, Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Bolo Yeung, Billy Blanks and Chuck Norris, who would win? Why?
5. What would you do if you were president for a day?
I’d t each people how to be self reliant, the culture of handouts sucks, makes us slaves despite our capabilities to do something. Give me a fish and you feed me for a day, teach me how to fish and you have fed me for a lifetime!All talk and no walk means nothing.
I’d encourage young people to take charge, we are the Cheetah generation.
6. Whats your favourite book & movie?
Facebook is my favorite book… if only Taifa Leo was a book ( Pambo letu la leo)
Movie: Titanic…I love watching it backwards…the superhero…too bad Jack goes back to gambling!
7. Who/What inspired you to do what you do now?
Who? The Mo Sound family, most notably “The Don”.
He challenged me to take social media to another level…who thought that Facebook/Youtube/Twitter/Google+ would one day pay my rent, grant me a chance to interact with world’s best programmers and stand infront of an audience in Amsterdam?
Mark Kaigwa also had a role, he’s quite a sharp guy and he understands social media.
What? The urge to see what will happen when we press this button to take things to the next level, to always leave an impression on things.
8. If you were to change jobs, what profession would you get into? Why?
I’d manage a petty errands service
How many people pay people to deliver valentine’s day flowers? Queue at Stima house? Send presents?

9.If you had a superpower, what would it be?
Speed!
I’d play for Kenya Sevens Team, share my speed and skill with Injera and company.
That way Geoffrey Kimani and Arigi Obiero will cease telling me to hit the gym…and Mitch will make sure am in the starting seven!

A Subaru Legacy. Speed.
12. If you could be in any band in the world, which one would you like to be in? Why?
Any Kamba band…our beat can go all techno…ever been to a Kao night?

Fast: be fast in doing things…not monkey see monkey do!

My friends and I keep over 200 girls in school by providing them with sanitary towels for a year at a cost of only Shs. 400/= per person
How do we do it? Social media, we got 200 friends to give Shs. 400/= each
